TROPICAL 7s INCLUDED IN USA RUGBY'S MEN' 7s TALENT ID PATHWAY

The Tropical 7s is proud to announce its formal recognition by USA Rugby as a key event in the USA Men’s Sevens 2025 Talent ID Pathway, further solidifying its role as one of the premier rugby development platforms in North America.

As part of the USA Men’s Sevens Roadmap for 2025, the initiative is designed to identify and develop the next generation of national team players through a comprehensive network of competitions, scouting events, and coaching opportunities. The pathway offers aspiring Eagles Sevens players multiple avenues to be identified by USA Rugby High Performance staff and potentially earn selection to development teams and residency contracts for the next Olympic cycle.

Talent Pathway Highlights at the 2025 Tropical 7s included:

🟩 Scouting for USA U18 Boys Global Youth Sevens Team: Men’s U18 athletes competing at the 2025 Tropical 7s (April 18–19, Tampa, FL) had the chance to be scouted for the USA U18 Sevens team set to compete at the prestigious Global Youth Sevens tournament in New Zealand later in the year.

🟩 USA 7s Pathway Coaches at the Tropical 7s Athlete Combine: USA Sevens Pathways coaches also participated in the Tropical 7s Athlete Combine on Thursday, April 17. This allowed for a more focused environment for individual assessments and conversations with pathway staff regarding advancement opportunities.

🟩 Coach Development: USA 7s Coaches Clinic: The USA Men’s and Women’s Sevens Pathway programs co-hosted a Coaches Clinic aimed at fostering community alignment and high-performance knowledge sharing.
