The 2027 TROPICAL 7s takes place at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay, Tampa, Florida.

The 2027 TROPICAL 7s is open to male and female teams as follows: Senior, U23/University, U18, U16, U14, and U12. Teams wishing to enter into an 'elite' division will need to be pre-approved before they can register.

Tournament matches will take place between 25-28 March 2027 as follows:

U12/U14/U16 divisions will take place on Thurs/Fri 25-26 March 2027

U18 divisons will take place on Fri/Sat 26-27 March 2027

U23 & Senior (adult) divisions will take place on Sat/Sun 27-28 March 2027

Match timings are subject to the published match schedule. Matches may be rescheduled earlier or later in the day in case of delays e.g. for severe weather.

The TROPICAL 7s ATHLETE COMBINE is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 25 March 2027 - timing TBC.

Training: Fields will be available to registered teams to reserve training sessions between Wed 24 March and Fri 26 March 2027 (booking system to open in early 2027)
EVENT FEES

The standard TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION FEE for 2027 is $995 USD per team (all divisions). An early-bird rate of $925 is in effect for the first 10 weeks of registration opening (up until 24th July 2026) as a special promotion to coincide with the 10-year anniversary.

There is a maximum of 15 players per registered team.

Registered teams will have the right to use fields for at least 1 hour of training on non-competition days.

TROPICAL 7s will organize division(s) and run a competition in a format and schedule determined by Tournament Management.

Teams can typically expect to play up to 6 matches (+/- 1 match) over their 2-day period of competition.

TROPICAL 7s will provide a qualified match referee for each match. Assistant Referees will be provided for semi-finals and finals. For all other matches, teams can expect to be asked to provide one line judge.

All players will have free entry into the TROPICAL 7s ATHLETE COMBINE.

Access to discounted rates with tournament ACCOMMODATION partners can be booked using the Tropical 7s registration platform.

Each registered team will receive 1 x free parking pass (parking is chargeable on competition days).

Division winners receive a team trophy and an award presentation.

A limited number of team tent rentals are available for an additional fee of $125 per day, which can be purchased at point of registration or via the Team Dashboard.

The TROPICAL 7s is fully sanctioned by USA Rugby. The tournament adheres to all USA Rugby's guidelines, which must also be followed by all participating teams.
