2024 EVENT OVERVIEW

EVERYTHING TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2024 TROPICAL 7s

​

KEY DETAILS

​

  • The 2024 TROPICAL 7s is open to boys and girls teams as follows: Senior, U23/University, U18, U16, U14, U12 (coed)

  • The Tropical 7s takes place at at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay.

  • Participating teams will be able to customize and adapt their experience. All teams have the option to set-up their own TRAINING CAMP in the days leading up to the tournament.

  • Competitive matches will take place on 29/30 March 2024 (Fri/Sat). 

  • The Tropical 7s ATHLETE COMBINE will take place on Thursday 28th March. 

  • Fields will be available to registered teams to reserve training sessions on Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th March 2024.

  • USA Rugby are expected too host an official USAR Talent ID Session alongside the Tropical 7s Athlete Combine (Thursday 6th April-TBC), where USA Rugby will have high performance selectors on-site and interacting with athletes.

 

EVENT FEES

​

  • The TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION FEE is $695 USD per team ($750 for senior divisions, $650 for U12 division). Pricing is based on max 15 players per team.

  • Registered teams will have the right to use the field complex as part of a training camp as well as the playing of pre-tournament matches/scrimmages (subject to field availability).

  • Tropical 7s will organize division(s) and run a competition in a format and schedule determined by the Tournament Management.  Teams can typically expect to play up to 6 matches over the 2-day tournament .

  • Tropical 7s provides qualified match referees for each match.

  • All players will have free entry into the Tropical 7s ATHLETE COMBINE and the Talent ID Session.

  • Access to discounted rates with our ACCOMMODATION partners can be booked using the Tropical 7s registration portal.

  • Each registered team will receive 1 x free parking passes (parking is chargeable on both tournament days).

  • The Tropical 7s  is sanctioned by USA Rugby and the tournament adheres to all of USA Rugby's guidelines, which must also be followed by all participating teams.

  • Division winners and runners-up receive a team trophy.

 

ADDITIONAL TEAM SERVICES

  • Team Tent Rental (set up for the duration of the competition)

  • Partnerships with local travel companies for ground transport options including team van rental 

  • Access to tickets to tourism attractions
