WELCOMING TEAMS TO TROPICAL 7s FROM AROUND THE GLOBE
Tropical 7s was conceived as an international youth rugby festival and the number of international teams wishing to play rugby with us in Florida grows year on year. International teams have come from a wide range of countries including England, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, even as far as Zimbabwe and foreign teams typically account for almost a half of the competing teams each year. This creates a unique atmosphere where teams from around the world can share their rugby culture and unite under the banner of our great game!
The warm Florida sunshine, an amazing range of off-field activities and a great rugby experience combine to make Tropical 7s one of the most popular rugby tour destinations by players, coaches and parents alike!
We also recognise the incredible amount of planning and financial commitment undertaken by international teams to enable them to play at Tropical 7s. The Tropical 7s team is available to support international teams with various aspects of their tour planning from fund raising ideas, finding accommodation, developing a bespoke tour itinerary, tourism ideas and even restaurant recommendations! TOURNAMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL TEAMS
International teams are required to provide a PERMISSION TO TOUR letter from their home union, as this is a requirement by our sanctioning body, USA Rugby who must approve the team's participation before competing. Please ensure your permission to tour is submitted to the Tournament no later than 5 WEEKS prior to the start of the tournament. Tournment Organisers will not be be held responsible nor offer any refunds should a team's participation is not approved by USA Rugby either due to late submission or for any other reason,
CHANGES TO ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-US CITIZENS AS OF 8th NOVEMBER 2021
As of November 8th 2021, travel requirements to enter the United States as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic have changed enabling more international visitors to visit the USA. Please see HERE for the latest information about travel and entry requirements into the US.
IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR TEAMS ARRIVING FROM OUTSIDE THE USA
If you're a citizen of a country covered by the USA’s Visa Waiver Programme you are able to travel to the USA without a visa provided you hold a valid Electronic System Travel Authorisation (ESTA) and meet the requirements of the programme. If you are a citizen of a country that does not qualify under the Visa Waiver Programme, you will need to apply for a visa under the US’ immigration rules.
