Registration for the 2024 Tropical 7s has now officially opened. Teams from around the globe are invited to come to play in the International Rugby Sevens tournament to be held on 29-30 March 2024 (Fri/Sat of Easter weekend). The 2024 event will return to the stunning Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay in Florida, USA.
Teams are invited to arrive early in the week to set up training camp with the playing pitches available beginning Wednesday 27th March, with the official Tropical 7s Athlete Combine and Talent ID Session scheduled to be held on Thursday 28th March.
The 2024 Tropical 7s will offer competitive divisions at the following age brackets:
U18 Boys: born on or after 1 September 2005 (Elite* & Open divisions)
U18 Girls: born on or after 1 September 2005 (Elite*, Open & Development divisions)
U16 Boys: born on or after 1 September 2007 (Elite & Open divisions)
U16 Girls: born on or after 1 September 2007 (Elite & Open divisions)
U14 Boys: born on or after 1 September 2009 (Elite & Open divisions)
U14 Girls: born on or after 1 September 2009 (Open division only)
U12 Coed: born on or after 1 September 2011 (Open division only)
U23/University Mens/Womens: born on or after 1 September 2000 (Elite & Open divisions)

Full details on team and player eligibility can be found HERE. The Tropical 7s has consistently been at the forefront in supporting the development of the Girls game. For 2024 a new U18 Girls "DEVELOPMENT" division will be added with the aim of providing an appropriate level of competition for relatively new girls' rugby programs getting started in the game (in addition to Open and Elite divisions at this age grade). In addition, the U16 Girls age group will offer both Elite and Open divisions for the first time. The 2023 Tropical 7s saw an equal number of girls teams and boys teams register for the tournament for the first time.
The Tropical 7s is also excited to announce new divisions for the 2024 competition including competitive senior Men's and Women's divisions for the first time. Senior division matches will be scheduled to take place from late afternoon/early evening on both tournament days with later matches taking place under floodlights, creating a unique rugby experience for adult teams. The Elite divisions for U18 Boys and U18 Girls are moving to invitation-only. Teams invited to take part in these divisions will be contacted over the month of June 2023. Invited teams will be asked to confirm their place in these divisions by 31st October 2023. Demand for the 2024 Tropical 7s is once again expected to be very high following the sellout of the 2023 event with attendance of more international teams to the tournament. The Tropical 7s is open to youth teams from around the globe including schools, clubs, universities, academies, representative teams and invitational sides. Senior level teams are expected to be highly competitive and will be by invitation only. Teams are strongly encouraged to register as early as possible for the tournament to avoid disappointment.
The tournament returns to the Tampa Sportsplex, a purpose-built tournament facility completed in 2018 consisting of 15 professionally maintained full-size pitches, each with its own LED lighting and live stream capability. The venue is currently undergoing a number of enhancements before next year's tournament including the construction of additional vendor areas, improved parking access and upgrades to the livestream capability. The impressive facility allows the Tropical 7s to continue to expand and grow as one of the world’s most prestigious youth rugby tournaments.

The Tropical 7s is conveniently located just 10 minutes from downtown Tampa and only a 20-minute drive from Tampa International Airport (TPA), a major international airport with hundreds of daily flights. Many of Tampa’s famous attractions are just a short drive from the venue including Busch Gardens, the Florida Aquarium and Adventure Island, as well as the world-famous beaches of St. Pete and Clearwater. With just over an hour's drive to the Disney theme parks in Orlando, teams will have easy access to take advantage of the full Florida tourism experience!
