The TROPICAL 7s is happy to announce ATHSTAT as the Official Athlete Analytics Partner to the 2023 TROPICAL 7s ATHLETE COMBINE.
ATHSTAT is a data management and analytics platform that allows sports analysts, coaches, and players to capture and store data in a single place and analyze it in real-time. ATHSTAT will support the delivery of the TROPICAL 7s Athlete Combine by providing participants with near real-time results and live leaderboards across the different Combine assessments. Athletes, coaches and recruiters will be able to access the Combine results and live leaderboards through the ATHSTAT web platform.
ATHSTAT are a full-service sports data analytics company and is working with a number other rugby clients including Premier Rugby 7s in the US and the World Schools 7s tournament in New Zealand.
The 2023 Tropical 7s Athlete Combine takes place on Thursday 6th April 2023 between 12-6pm and is free to enter for any registered player in the tournament. There is no additional charge for registered teams to participate in the Athlete Combine. Players do not need to pre-register for the Athlete Combine - this is a walk-up session only.
The Athlete Combine provides an opportunity for both teams and players to benchmark themselves against each other and other teams through a standardised series of physical tests that have been identified as being critical to the performance of elite rugby sevens players including:
10m/40m sprint
Vertical leap
Horizontal leap
Agility test
USA Rugby will be hosting a talent ID session alongside the Athlete Combine, where players may be selected to interact with USAR high-performance coaches and national selectors.
