2026 TROPICAL 7s - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!

The 2026 TROPICAL 7s will take place over 3rd and 4th April 2026 at the Tampa Sportsplex, Florida, USA. Team registration for the 2026 tournament is now open and the online team registration link can be found HERE.


The TROPICAL 7s is North America’s largest and premier rugby festival featuring over 200 teams from U12 through to adult. The 2025 event was the tournament's largest (211 teams) and most successful event to date and demand for team places is expected to be higher than ever for 2026.


In a recent survey of 2025 team managers and coaches, 80% of respondents said they were either 'certain' or 'highly likely' to return with their teams in 2026. Tournament organisers are expecting another sell-out event and limits on team numbers have been put in place for each division.


Proposed divisions for the the 2026 TROPICAL 7s include:

  • U18 Boys Elite: born on or after 1 Sept 2007*

  • U18 Girls Elite: born on or after 1 Sept 2007*

  • U18 Boys Open: born on or after 1 Sept 2007

  • U18 Girls Open: born on or after 1 Sept 2007

  • U18 Girls Development: born on or after 1 Sept 2007

  • U16 Boys Elite: born on or after 1 Sept 2009

  • U16 Girls Elite: born on or after 1 Sept 2009

  • U16 Boys Open: born on or after 1 Sept 2009

  • U16 Girls Open: born on or after 1 Sept 2009

  • U14 Boys Open (max 185lb): born on or after 1 Sept 2011

  • U14 Girls Open (max 185lb): born on or after 1 Sept 2011

  • U12 Coed Open (max 135lb): born on or after 1 Sept 2013

  • U23 Mens Elite: born on or after 1 Sept 2002

  • U23 Womens Elite: born on or after 1 Sept 2002

  • U23 Mens Open: born on or after 1 Sept 2002

  • U23 Womens Open: born on or after 1 Sept 2002

  • Senior Mens Elite (no age cutoff)*

  • Senior Womens Elite (no age cutoff)*


*Team requires pre-approval prior to registering.


All divisions are available for immediate registration except for U18 Boys Elite, U18 Girls Elite, Senior Men’s Elite and Senior Women’s Elite teams  - interested teams in these divisions will need to contact the tournament with their interest in advance by emailing info@tropical7s.com for a registration code. Team registration for all other divisions can be made directly via the tournament registration page and is on a first-come, first-served basis.


Teams will not be allowed to hold or reserve places until full payment of the registration fee has been made. Teams looking to enter more than one team in any single division are kindly asked to seek approval from the tournament organizers before registering.


Team registration is only guaranteed once payment of the team registration fee and all team, player, and coach compliance requirements have been satisfied - see HERE for further details on division age cut-offs, compliance requirements and registration terms & conditions.

EventConnect guarantees the best available group rate for the dates and room type being offered and ensures your team’s accommodation bookings integrates seamlessly with the tournament's registration platform. Once a team has registered for the tournament, rooms can be held without charge for up to 10 days after which a small deposit is required to confirm the booking - please refer to the booking and cancellation terms for each individual property as they may differ from hotel to hotel. Given the busy time of year for visitors to Central Florida, teams are urged to book their accommodation as early as possible. Teams can only make accommodation holds and confirmed reservations if they are successfully registered for the tournament.


For the 2026 tournament, the team registration fee for all divisions is $895 dollars per team ($60 per player based on a 15-person squad). The team registration fee can be paid online at the point of registration. Teams wishing to pay for team registration by other methods (e.g. cheque/bank transfer/other digital payment methods) must register their team first and ensure funds are transferred within 10 working days of registering their team online. If payment is not received by this deadline, the team's registration will be cancelled along with any hotel reservations, and the division spot will be made publicly available or offered to the next team on the waitlist (if the division is full). The final closing date for team registrations is Friday 13th March 2026, although individual divisions are expected to 'close-out' much earlier than this. Once a division has reached its maximum quota of teams, the division will move to ‘waitlist’ status. If a Teams must still register online in order to be placed on a division’s waitlist - although no payment will be taken from the team at this stage. If and when a space becomes available in that division, waitlisted teams will be contacted according to the order they registered and asked to confirm their registration ASAP along with payment of the team registration fee.
