2022 EVENT OVERVIEW

EVERYTHING TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2022 TROPICAL 7s

KEY DETAILS

  • The 2022 TROPICAL 7s is open to teams of all youth age groups and gender: U23/University, U18, U16, U14, U12 (boys only)

  • The Tropical 7s takes place at at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay.

  • Participating teams will be able to customize and adapt their experience. All teams have the option to set-up their own TRAINING CAMP in the days leading up to the tournament.

  • Competitive matches will take place 15th-16th April 2022 (Fri/Sat).  

  • The Tropical 7s ATHLETE COMBINE will take place on Thursday 14th April. 

  • Fields will be available to registered teams to use between Monday 11th to Thursday 14th April 2021.

  • USA Rugby will host an official USAR Talent ID Session alongside the Athlete Combine (Thursday 14th April), where USA Rugby will have high performance selectors on-site and interacting with athletes.
  • COVID PROTOCOLS based on local health and safety regulations will be in place and must be respected at all times. See COVID-RELATED INFORMATION.

 

EVENT FEES

  • The TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION FEE is $550 USD per team. Pricing is based on max 15 players per team.

  • Registrations transferred from the cancelled 2020 event will still be honored. Please contact the Tropical 7s team at info@tropical7s.com.

  • Registered teams will have the right to use the field complex as part of a training camp as well as the playing of pre-tournament matches/scrimmages (subject to field availability - please check).

  • Tropical 7s will organize division(s) and run a competition in a format and schedule determined by the Tournament Management.  Teams can typically expect to play up to 6 matches over the 2-day tournament .

  • Tropical 7s provides a qualified match referee and 2 x Assistant Referees for each match.

  • All players will have free entry into the 2022 Tropical 7s ATHLETE COMBINE and the Talent ID Session.

  • Access to discounted rates with our ACCOMMODATION partners - to be booked separately.

  • Each registered team will receive 2 x free parking passes (parking is chargeable on both tournament days).

  • As the sanctioning body, the tournament adheres to all of USA Rugby's guidelines,which must also be followed by all participating teams.

  • Division winners and runners-up will receive a team trophy.

**COVID-19 NOTICE**

The Tropical 7s is currently developing the health and safety protocols that will be in place for the 2022 event. The Tropical 7s will enforce COVID-19 related mandates issued by local, state, and national authorities, as well as any USA Rugby mandated protocols at the time of the event.
